Maryann E. (Hafner) Gac, age 75, passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2023, in Jacksonville, Florida.  She is formerly from Irondequoit, New York.  She is predeceased by her parents, Maurice and Elizabeth (Cronin) Hafner, her parents-in-law, Mathew and Isabel (Komorowski) Gac, her brothers, Rev. M. Gerard, and Joseph Hafner, her sister-in-law, Carol Gac, her niece, Kathleen (Hafner) Smith, and her great-nephew, Ryan Kowolski.  She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Gary T. Gac, her daughter, Karen Gac, her brother, James Paul (Ann) Hafner, her sister-in-law, Sharon Hafner, her brother-in-law, Wayne Gac, and several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews and loving friends.

Maryann attended St. Thomas The Apostle Grammer School, Mercy High School and Nazareth College where she earned a Masters Degree in business education. She taught business at Canandaigua Academy in Canandaigua NY and Nazareth High School in Rochester NY. Later in her career, she worked in county government for probation department and was secretary for a family court judge. She worked for the airport manager as his secretary in Rochester. Also secretary at Sacred Heart Cathedral. She worked with William Zimmerli (Suny Brockport NY professor). As secretary for NYS FPHE (New York State Federation of professional Health Educators). Maryann was Lector at Christ the King parish in Irondequoit NY (Rochester). In Jacksonville she was employed by Dr Michael Paul Pruitt. A psychiatrist, whose office was on Phillips Highway.

Funeral Services:

Saturday, January 27, 2024, Ponte Vedra Valley Funeral Home, 4750 Palm Valley Road, Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, 32082 Mass at 11:00 AM - Short walk afterward with urn placed in niche. Reception will take place immediately following in the main building, where the Chapel is located.
