Melissa Cain May

December 3, 1963 – September 19, 2022

Melissa left this earth on September 19, 2022.  She is survived by daughter, Stephenie Cain May; grandson, Layke; mother, Janet Cain; sister, Anita (Art) Lancaster, and their children, Ellis, Brianne, Gaige; aunt, Gail Greenblatt; uncle, Dick (Barbara) Bruder; nieces, nephews, and cousins of the Bruder, Sloan, and Goodall families.  She was predeceased by her father, Richard Cain, and sister, Leslie Cain.

Melissa, as a young girl, competed in hunter/jumper classes at English Horse shows on her horse, Silver.  At a later age, she taught hunter/jumper lessons to beginners at a Mandarin barn.

Melissa graduated from Wolfson High School and attended FCCJ.  She then joined her parent’s companies as General Manager of Mandarin Paint and Decorating, A&J Cain Interiors and C&R Custom Homes and Renovations.

Melissa’s happiest days as an adult were the birth of her very special daughter, Stephenie, and achieving her dream of a horse farm and lovely home built for her by her father on her 20-acre horse farm in Green Cove Springs.  Her daughter, Stephenie, followed her mother’s love of horses and competed in hunter/jumper classes.  From her farm, Melissa conducted her Twin Ponds Nursery Landscaping business.  Later her grandson, Layke, brought joy to her life.

May we all remember our own special memories of “Missy”.  The family will hold a private service at Ponte Vedra Valley where she will rest in peace along with her father, Richard, and sister, Leslie.  It is believed death is preparation for the eternal union with those we love in peace and joy.  God Bless.
