Mildred Juanita (Nita) Ervin, 91, of Jacksonville Beach, Fl, went to her Heavenly home Jan.  20, 2022, at Baptist Medical Center Beaches, in Jacksonville Beach, Fl. She was born to the late Brondell Robert & Mildred Earnestine Yarborough, Aug. 28, 1930 in Atlanta, Ga.

After marrying in 1949 and raising two children, Nita was employed by the Department of Commerce. Later she worked as a sales representative for a temporary employment agency and held a real estate license. Nita enjoyed traveling with her family throughout America, including Hawaii, three trips to Alaska, and many locations outside the US. She enjoyed years of camping trips, in their motorhomes, with her husband, daughter and son-in-law, which left her with wonderful memories.

A beautiful wife and mother, Nita lived a long happy life, fulfilled by her love of her Lord Jesus Christ and her family. Even when her body became frail and her mind was suffering with dementia, she never forgot her faith, her love of God, or her family. She loved to sing, gospel songs were her favorite, and she could remember the words to practically every song. She constantly spoke of God, and loved to say, “God is good”. She was an amazing shining example of a Christian who had Christ in her heart, no matter what the mind forgot, she was certain of her salvation, and was excited to be with her Lord and family.

Survived by her daughter, Kimberly and husband, Ernest Johnston III; grandsons, Steven and Justin Ervin; brother, Jerry Yarborough and wife, Debra; brother, James Yarborough; and beloved cousins, nieces, nephews and many other family members. Her husband, Raymond I. Ervin, preceded her in death February 27, 2008, and her son, Steven J. Ervin on July 18, 2006.

A memorial service celebrating her life will take place February 16, 2022, 1:00 p.m., at Ocean Park Baptist Church, 400 16th Avenue South, Jacksonville Beach, FL, with Pastor Chris Partyka officiating.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Ponte Vedra Valley Cemetery, 4750 Palm Valley Road, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, 904-285-1130. Donations may be made in honor of Nita to any of her favorite charities: Ocean Park Baptist Church, Humane Society, Wounded Warriors, or Disabled Veterans.
