Monta “Mike” Preusser, 86, passed away May 11, 2016.  He is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Winifred “Winnie” Munson Preusser; three daughters, Michele Preusser Riedel (Chuck), Kelly Preusser Eddy (Greg) and Nikola Preusser; twin grandchildren, Krista and Michael “Mike” Riedel; sister, Wanda Preusser McNally; his brothers, Rudy Preusser ( Judy), Von Preusser, and Levin “Bud” Preusser; nephews, Michael Preusser and Matthew Preusser ( Julia); niece, Katie McNally Apperson ( Andrew).

Monta graduated from Washington-Lee High School in Arlington, VA, where he met his high school sweetheart and lifelong partner, wife, Winnie.  He served in the US Marine Corps from 1948-1950 in the Philippines and Guam.  Monta attended the University of Maryland and had a successful career as an insurance executive, living in several US cities.

Monta will be remembered for his larger-than-life persona, his independent and gregarious spirit, his ever-present sense of humor, his enthusiasm for the Washington Redskins, Georgia Bulldogs, family card tournaments and tennis, and for his devotion to his wife, daughters and grandchildren.

A ceremony to celebrate Monta’s life will be held Monday, May 16, at the Ponte Vedra Valley, 4750 Palm Valley Road, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, from 4-7 p.m. The family will receive friends and family from 4-5 p.m., followed by a service at 5 p.m. with refreshments afterwards.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation to the charity of your choice relating to Alzheimer’s or cancer research.
