Nancy Adele Glasstetter Goin, the inspirational leader of her family, a loving and mentoring mother, grandmother and great grandmother, whom spent her life making the world a better place for every life she touched, died peacefully surrounded by family in her home in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, on December 22, 2021. Her death came after months of a hard-fought fight with cancer.  Nancy has now rejoined her husband of 62 years, Bob Goin, who preceded her in death in October 0f 2019.  She was the mother of four children; Doug (Carol), Brian (Marshia), Janice (Charlie) Lowe and Bruce; grandmother to Nicole, Robert, Andrew, Zachary, Matthew (Cassi) and JD; great grandmother to Madison, Gage, Bella, Kain, Autumn and Sofia.

Nancy’s story started on November 5, 1937, in Pittsburgh, PA, when she was born to William and Agnes Glasstetter.  She was the youngest of three children, brother, Robert Glasstetter and sister, Jane Glasstetter Hoffman, with all of whom she is reunited.  She was a 1955 graduate of Penn Hills High School, PA, where she met and married her high school sweetheart, Bob, in 1957.

Nancy’s lasting legacy is the strength, determination, love and spirit she instilled in her family and the many lives she positively impacted during their years at Bethany College, West Virginia University, Florida State University and the University of Cincinnati, as well as the years she owned and operated Evangeline’s Florist in Mandarin, FL, and during her time serving other through numerous volunteer and church related organizations.

Her family is especially grateful for the love and friendship she received from her friends and neighbors over the years and her church family at Ponte Vedra Church.

A Memorial Service will be held at Ponte Vedra Church on January 16, 2022 at 3 pm.  She will be interred at Ponte Vedra Valley Cemetery in a private family service, at a different time.  The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Ponte Vedra Church, 76 S. Roscoe Blvd., Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32082.  Please sign the online guestbook at www.pontevedravalley.com.
