Patrick Alexander Garro, 29, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, from complications of diabetes. Though his life was far too brief, it was filled with music, laughter, love, and moments spent surrounded by the people and places that brought him peace.
Patrick lived with Type 1 diabetes from the age of two, meeting every challenge with courage, resilience, and grace. At Camp Sweeney, he found friendships and a place where he could simply be himself. He loved playing guitar, solving Rubik's Cubes, and encouraging younger campers with patience and kindness.
Music was one of Patrick's greatest passions. He had a gift for finding songs that expressed what words alone could not. He played the guitar for many years, and it became not just an instrument, but a part of who he was.
Patrick's journey, like many, was marked by challenges and moments of growth. He never stopped striving to become the best version of himself. In the weeks before his passing, he shared heartfelt conversations filled with hope, reconciliation, and love for those around him. Those moments remain a lasting gift to his family and friends.
Patrick leaves behind his loving parents, Julie and Gerry Garro; his beloved sister, Ellie; his grandparents, John and Earlene Joslin; and his grandfather, Gerardo Garro. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him.
His song may have ended too soon, but the melody of his life will remain in the hearts of those who loved him forever.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Ponte Vedra Valley on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at 10:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Diabetes Association.
