Peter Lawrence Hammer passed away unexpectedly on November 24, 2025, in Flowery Branch, Georgia, at the age of 42. His family is deeply saddened and shocked by his sudden loss.
Born on October 10, 1983, in Rochester, New York, Peter was the son of Ann Howell and the late Allen Hammer. As a child, he loved playing and watching sports. He was also active in United Synagogue Youth programs.
Peter attended the University of Pittsburgh, Bradford Campus, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management. He later moved to Jacksonville, Florida, intending to focus on his career. There, he met the love of his life, Jacklyn, and together they built a beautiful family. He became the beloved husband of Jacklyn Hammer and the devoted father of their daughter, Ava, who was the light of his life. Known for his kindness, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for family, Peter was a dedicated family man.
Peter worked for Florida Blue, where he was admired for his strong work ethic, compassion, and willingness to help others. Outside of work, he was a proud Buffalo Bills fan and cherished cheering for his team with family and friends.
Guided by the values of his Jewish faith, Peter treated everyone with warmth, generosity, and integrity. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate to know him.
Funeral services will be held Graveside on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Ponte Vedra Valley Cemetery. The funeral will be recorded and available directly below this obituary after the conclusion of the service. Shiva to follow.
