On Thursday, November 11, 2021, Phyllis Vandroff passed away in Jacksonville, Florida, at the age of 87. Phyllis is survived by her three children, Cheryl (Steve) Roffman, Eileen Vandroff, and David (Tracey) Vandroff; six grandchildren, Mitchell (Michelle) and Elliot Roffman, Marc and Sara Goldsticker, Emily (Charlie) and Sydney Vandroff; three great grandchildren, Dean, Jude, and Zohara Roffman; sister, Marilyn Stein; and devoted caregiver and friend, Elizabeth Careathers. Phyllis was preceded in death in 2020 by her loving husband of 66 years, Arnold Vandroff.

Phyllis was born in NY, NY, in 1934, to Albert and Sara Kofka. She moved to Jacksonville at the age of 14, but always loved everything NYC.  She graduated from the University of Florida with a major in History and met Arnold.  After marring in 1954, Arnold and Phyllis moved back to Jacksonville where they raised their family. Phyllis was very philanthropic, especially with Jewish causes.  A lifelong member of Temple Ahavath Chesed in Jacksonville, Phyllis also served as the President of Jacksonville Jewish Federation Women’s Division, President of National Council of Jewish Woman, and helped establish and held may Board rolls at the JCA.

Phyllis/Philly was the best wife, mother, grandmother, and friend anyone could wish for.  Her devotion to her family had no bounds.  Before you knew you needed her, she was already there by your side.  She loved travel, a great show tune, entertaining, decorating, the beach, the gators, always most important her family.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, November 14, 12:00 noon, at Ponte Vedra Valley Cemetery, 4750 Palm Valley Rd., Ponte Vedra Beach.  In Lieu of Flowers donations can be made to River Garden Staff Appreciation Fund - www.rivergarden.org/donate
