Richard (Dick) E. Lee died on February 2, 2021, in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. He was born in Teaneck, New Jersey on April 12, 1943, and grew up in Palisades Park, NJ. He married Claire M. Pieroni, of Ridgefield, NJ, in 1974 and they lived in Wanaque, NJ before retiring to Florida. He was the son of Elmer and Kathleen Lee (Law).
Dick graduated from Cliffside Park High School and the Bergen County Police Academy. While serving as a sheriff in the Bergen County Police Department, Dick was a member of the Scuba Team, Swat Team, a Detective and Photographer. He retired with the rank of Sergeant in 1996. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, boating, hunting and marksmanship. Dick and Claire enjoyed entertaining family and friends and were always gracious hosts and a lot of fun. They rarely missed throwing a Super Bowl Party.
He leaves behind his brother, Robert Lee; sister-in-law, Jane Lee; niece, Katherine Lee and her husband, Edward Luttrell; sisters-in-law Genevieve P. Harvel and Jeanne Pieroni; brother-in-law, Walter Czyzewski; niece, Robin Sheffler; nephews, Ronald Czyzewski, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Czyzewski, and Garry (Amy) Pieroni. He also leaves behind three great nephews, three great nieces, and one great-great niece.
A private service will be held at Ponte Vedra Valley Cemetery. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, you consider making a donation to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America.
