Richard T. Hippensteal, 89, of Jacksonville, FL entered into eternal life on April 3, 2024. Born in Bethlehem, PA on February 1, 1935, he was the son of the late Harry and Anna (Melcher) Hippensteal. He was the loving husband of Cynthia “Cindy” (Logsdon) Hippensteal. They were married for 65 years and were blessed with two daughters, Heidi Walton of Jacksonville, FL and Jill Chuss and her husband Todd of Perkiomenville, PA. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Richard was preceded in death by brothers: Paul, Harry, John and Robert and sisters: Doris, Anne, Theetta and Nancy.

Richard graduated from Bethlehem Vo-Tech/Liberty High School in 1953. He proudly served his country in the PA National Guard and then as a Sergeant in the US Army. He was a long-time member and a Past Master of Masonic Lodge #283 in Bethlehem, PA. He worked as a computer programmer in the Lehigh Valley, PA until he retired and relocated to Jacksonville, FL. Not one to be idle in retirement, he then took a job as a computer analyst with Landstar Trucking Company in Jacksonville until he ultimately retired for good.

Richard was an avid outdoorsman, with a special interest in hunting and fishing. He had a passion for nature and enjoyed capturing its beauty in his oil paintings. He was a kind and honorable man and was adored by everyone who knew him. Richard loved the Lord with all his heart, and he treasured his wife and daughters more than anything in the world. He was a husband and father second to none.

Richard was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Neptune Beach, FL. A celebration of life service will be held at the church on Friday, April 26th at 11:00 a.m., with final inurnment at Ponte Vedra Valley Cemetery.
