Robert Earle Maddux died in ICU at Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine, Fl. on July 7, 2021. Robert was 59 years old.

He was born in Jacksonville, Fl. but lived in the Northeast for a period of years.  He graduated from Episcopal High School and attended the University of North Florida. Robert (Hap) was in retail management - working with A. C. Moore, Pottery Barn and Tuesday Morning. He was given regional awards for excellence in retail management. He was gifted with an excellent voice and sang/recorded with several worship groups and productions.

He is survived by his two sons, Nathan Josiah and Aaron Joshua whom he loved deeply. He is also survived by his mother, Shirley Shipman Maddux; his sister, Sharon M. Carpenter (James Hall) and nieces, Ashley Caneva (Victor), their two sons, Josiah and Lucas; his niece, Laura Faith Carpenter;  nephew, David Salling, his wife Deborah and three sons, Chase, Joseph and Jacob; nephew, Chris Salling, wife, Katherine, and sons, Wyatt and Braden.

Hap was met at the Gate by his beloved father, Wallace, those of his family who have gone before and his Savior, Jesus Christ. There will be a family service with Hap’s ashes scattered, at a later date, at the family cabin in NC, Wallace’s Keep. Hap, we were greatly blessed by your time in our life. The memories will prayerfully sustain us until we meet again.
