Robert Pisarski, 83, passed away on February 2, 2025. Bob was born on May 13, 1941 in Baltimore, Maryland. He was the son of Amelia Radecki Pisarski and Leon J. Pisarski.
A graduate of Loyola Blakefield in Towson and Loyola College with a B.S. in Accounting, his first positions after college were as a Field Audit Agent for the Internal Revenue Service in Washington, DC, followed by Senior Tax Accountant with Arthur Young and Company in Baltimore. While at AY, he earned his Certified Public Accountant license.
In June of 1969, he accepted a position as Federal Tax Manager with American Motors Corporation in Detroit. This began a twenty-five year financial management career in corporate taxes, real estate, treasury operations and auto financing at AMC and Volkswagen of America. While at AMC, he would earn a MBA from the Broad College of Business at Michigan State University.
He was named Vice President and Treasurer for American Motors Financial Corporation before moving on to VWoA. At VWoA, he led the consolidation of the auto credit operations of Volkswagen Credit Corporation in the U.S. and Canada with Deutsche Credit managing administrative operations. Later he was the VWoA Operations Representative involved in creating a consolidated Financial Management System for all of Volkswagen's North American Manufacturing and Sales Operations.
Bob joined Fullmer, Rudewicz, a large Detroit CPA firm, which was forming a consulting practice to prepare tier one automotive suppliers to become certified to the International ISO 9000 Quality and ISO 14000 Environmental Standards. Over the next five years, he and five other consultants prepared more than 50 companies to achieve certification to these standards.
In December 1999, he was approached by Ford Motor Company to join employees and other consultants in the Company Quality organization to train segments of the Company's operation to meet the ISO Quality and Environmental Standards. Teams from Design, Product Development, and Sustainability. Environmental and Safety Engineering Operation were his responsibility until his retirement in July 2003. Bob lettered in Lacrosse in college, was a club level tennis player, and snow skied in Michigan, Colorado, Utah, and Canada. He bought a sailboat in 1974 and transitioned to powerboats in 1981, shortly after marrying Nancy Hall. Nancy and Bob loved being out on the water and traveling the Upper Great Lakes from their home on Lake St. Clair Shores, Michigan.
After retiring, they moved to Savannah in 2003 and lived first at The Landings before moving to Southbridge, a large residential community outside of Savannah. In 2013, they moved to Ponte Vedra, a suburb of Jacksonville, Florida near the Players Champion golf course at Sawgrass.
Bob is survived by Nancy J. Hall, his wife of 45 years; daughter Alexandra "Sasha" Trosch (Carl) of Pleasant Garden, North Carolina; two grandchildren, Molly Trosch Colleran (Brendan) and Carl Lee Trosch; sister, Leona Pisarski Libman (George) of Tuscon, Arizona; their daughter, Susan Libman Kartchner (Dan) of Bountiful, Utah, and niece, Juliann Kartchner.
Per his wishes, Bob was cremated. His ashes were encased in a stone crypt at a private cemetery in Ponte Vedra, Florida. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the Class of '59 Scholarship Fund at Loyola Blakefield, 500 Chestnut Avenue, Towson, Maryland 21204.
