Scott Michael Spencer was born on August 28, 1979, in Newark, NJ and was sent to his eternal Home September 29th, 2025.
Just a few weeks prior to his passing Scott visited Jordan and the site where Jesus was baptized. His faith in God was strong, and he said that he felt so blessed and grateful for that opportunity. His passing left a hole in the hearts of his family, friends and many more whose lives were touched by him. We ask that you remember him for the love he gave, the laughter he shared, and the lives he touched.
While in high school Scott joined ROTC and took accelerated courses in college to graduate early. Scott attended Harvard University and graduated with a master’s degree in finance and business analytics. Scott had a great love for his country and joined the Army later in life. He attended OCS and graduated as a Captain, He served his country honorably from 2007 through 2015 and was awarded The Bronze Star for his meritorious service.
Scott is survived by his wife, Emily (Gordon); children, Charlotte and Theodore; his mother, Dana Lynn (Capece); sister, Holly (Mendoza); brother, Daniel; sister-in-law, Ashley; uncle, Denis. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his son, Samuel Michael Spencer; his father, Carroll Spencer; grandparents, Dolores and Donato Capece, Mildred and Carroll Spencer Sr.
Mass will be held at 11 am on October 27, 2025 at St. John Paul II Catholic Church 127 Stone Mason Way, Ponte Vedra, FL 32081. Graveside service and funeral to follow at Ponte Vedra Valley Cemetery and Funeral Home 4750 Palm Valley Road, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32082. Celebration of life commences after the funeral.
