Theodore F. Petit (Ted) passed away peacefully on July 22nd.  He was born August 8, 1930, the son of Wallace and Eula Petit.  He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and then joined the army serving as a paratrooper in the Korean conflict.  Ted graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in business and real estate.  He then went to work for Security Federal Savings and Loan Association before opening his own real estate appraisal firm, T.F. Petit & Associates.  He was a past president of the American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers, Florida Chapter #2 and a member of the Society of Real Estate Appraisers.  During the years of being a successful appraiser, he earned his MAI degree.  He was admired and respected in his field.

Ted was a former member of the University Club and the San Jose Country Club.  He was also a member of Spring Glen United Methodist Church. He was an avid gator fan and enjoyed taking many trips to see them play.

His family will remember him as being kind, gentle, witty and loving. He is survived by his devoted wife, Sonya Fletcher, of 63 years; his son, Ted Petit, Jr. (Pam); daughters: Sharon Petit Jones (Bob) and Missy Petit Ebert (Andy); 6 wonderful grandchildren: Lauren Scotto, Shelby McMullan, Paige Van Bever, Logan, Cole and Mason Ebert; and 5 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.  Ted/Dad/Poppy will be missed each and every day.
