Thomas Brennan III, 75, of Ponte Vedra, Florida, was called home to the Lord surrounded by his family on 5/3/2025.

He was the son of Thomas and Mary (Lanciano) Brennan, previously of Kulpmont, PA.

Tom is currently a member of St. John Paul II Church at 127 Stone Mason Way in Ponte Vedra, FL.

A 1967 graduate of Our Lady of Lourdes HS in Coal Township, PA. He graduated from Bloomsburg University in 1971 and continued his studies in Public Administration at The New School for Social Research in NYC.

He was a 33 year employee of the Commonwealth of PA. In 2006, he was selected to be the Assistant Executive Director of the Office of Community Development - Disaster Recovery Unit in Baton Rouge, LA. He then retired to Ponte Vedra, Florida in 2012.

He is survived by his loving wife Dolores (née) Checchi, originally from Shamokin, PA along with his three daughters Molly and husband Andrew Capp of Maryland, Ann Brennan-Kindler of Harrisburg, PA and Theresa Brennan also of Harrisburg. He was blessed with 3 wonderful grandchildren, Lola, Caroline and Brennan Capp.

Also surviving are two sisters-in-law Louise Checchi of Harrisburg and Holly Brennan, Kulpmont, PA along with his nephew David and wife Melissa of Bloomsburg, PA

You couldn’t find a more diehard NY Yankees baseball and Penn State football fan. Tom coached all his daughters’ soccer and softball teams.

He was President of the Susquehanna Township Softball Association in the 80s and 90s.

He served as his church’s Parish Council President at OLBS, Harrisburg, PA in the 90s as well. One of his most profound accomplishments, however, was a donation of over 8 gallons of blood to the Central PA Blood Bank.

He was an avid gardener, chef and foodie. In retirement he spent a lot of time cycling.

Besides his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his brother and nephew James and Jason Brennan, his son-in-law Robert Kindler, and his beloved Aunts, Katie, Vicky and Theresa Lanciano.

A Visitation was held at The Ponte Vedra Valley Funeral Home on 5/6/2025.  

There will be a 10 AM viewing followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM in the St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Church, 2800 Paxton Church Rd., Harrisburg, PA, 17110 on Tuesday, 5/13/2025. The internment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 116 S. Oak Grove Road, Harrisburg, PA 17112.
