HULIHAN Thomas Hawe Hulihan Jr, Tommy, died peacefully November 18th at Brooks Bartram Crossing Rehabilitation Center after losing a courageous battle from injuries sustained after a fall at his home. Born in New Kensington, PA, to Thomas Lucky Hulihan and Marie Salvatore Hulihan, Tommy and his family moved to Neptune Beach when he was 2 years old and became lifetime members of St Paul's Catholic Church in Jacksonville Beach. A talented athlete, he played football and baseball for Fletcher High School, graduating in 1953. His performance won him a baseball scholarship to Rollins College as an infielder; and, his team was the 1957 NCAA Tournament runner-up. Tommy received a BA degree in Business in 1957, and he was then drafted by the Yankees. Instead of playing for the Yankees, however, he returned home and joined the Army Infantry. Enjoying a diversified career after serving his country, he coached the first football team at Englewood High School in Jacksonville. Following, he spent 33 years in the clothing business, including being national sales leader for Miss Elaine Lingerie. After a successful career in the clothing business, Tommy worked as Customer Service Manager for United Transport Services LLC with his good friend and adopted son, Charles Miller III. Continuing his fondness for athletics, Tommy was also an avid tennis and golf player at Selva Marina and Sawgrass Country Clubs. Survivors include his three sons, Thomas (Kelly), Michael (Tina) and Scott (Tracy) Hulihan; sister, Mary Ann Hulihan, and two brothers, Michael J. (Mary) and Dennis J. (Jackie) Hulihan, his wife of 25 years, Gypsy Alexander-Hulihan; five stepchildren, Tom Rankin, Chan Alexander (Danny), Jay Alexander (Mark), Virginia Ginny Alexander, and Danny Alexander (Marissa), and 15 grandchildren. A memorial celebration will be led by Father William Kelly at 11am Monday, November 24th, at St. Paul's Catholic Church, located at 435 1st Ave North in Jacksonville Beach, followed by lunch in the St Paul's Family Life Center. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Vincent de Paul Society, 626 1st Avenue North, Jacksonville Beach, Florida 32250 or www.svdpusa.org in Tommy's memory.
