Thomas "Tommy" P. Hanson, 84, passed away September 13, 2018.  He was born on November 14, 1933, to Thomas and Ida Mae Hanson in GA.  Tommy graduated from Grady High School in Atlanta, GA, where he played varsity baseball, football, and married his high school sweetheart, Virginia Thompson.  They moved to Jacksonville, FL, in 1956. Tommy was a clothing manufacturer's representative and former co-owner of Town & Country Men's Store. He was an avid golfer and founding member of Selva Marina Country Club (now Atlantic Beach Country Club) where he was a member of their Hole-In-One Club. Tommy was a faithful member of Ponte Vedra United Methodist Church.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Hanson; sister-in-law, Lynda Hanson; and son-in-law, Ken Scheiderman.  Tommy is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Virginia Thompson Hanson; children, Phil Hanson (Cindy), David Hanson (Anne Martin), Robin Scheiderman, and Karen Vaughn (Rob); grandsons, Will and David Vaughn; doggie grandchildren, Molly, Choco and Starla. The family kindly asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Ponte Vedra United Methodist Church, 76 South Roscoe Blvd., Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, 32082.
