Tobie Diane Brown 2/28/1976 - 2/12/2021
Heaven gained a beautiful angel as Tobie Diane lost her fight after a devesting accident causing a brain injury requiring immediate brain surgery and an intensive care hospital stay on February 12, 2021.
Tobie Diane Brown was born to Patrick and Kathleen Brown (Nordberg) in Jacksonville, Florida on February 28, 1976. She and her parents welcomed her baby brother, Shawn, three years later. Her parents later divorced. At one point she moved with mother and brother to Japan, where their mother served in the United States Navy. While there, Kathleen met and married Grant Mollenhoff and welcomed her baby sister, Stormi. The family traveled to many places however, the Jacksonville Beach area has always been where she called home. Tobie graduated from high school in Lakeville Minnesota 1995, soon after graduation she moved back to the Jacksonville Beaches area and pursued a career in the restaurant service industry. She was always active in the community, was a member of American Legion Post 129, as well as an active member of the First Christian Church of the Beaches, where she was recently baptized.
A True beach girl. If you couldn’t find Tobie at the local beach she was spending time with her family and friends, she couldn’t go anywhere without running into someone she knew! She would always pull out her phone to show recent pictures of her twin nieces, or the trip she came back from.
On April 10, 1999, Tobie welcomed her pride and joy; a beautiful baby girl she named Alexis. Alexis was the apple of Tobie’s eye. In January of 2021, she couldn’t wait to become Mimi to Alexis’ daughter, Grace. She was so proud and beaming with love of life. Tobie couldn’t wait to show her off and to tell everyone she was a Mimi! Tobie loved life and was always a beaming ray of sunshine. Tobie touched many lives with her generosity and passion for life. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile as well as her upbeat outgoing attitude.
Tobie will be missed by her long-time fiancé, Billy Howell, of Neptune Beach, FL; her daughter, Alexis Hunter of Jacksonville, FL; her brother, Shawn Brown of Atlantic Beach, FL; her sister, Stormi Mollenhoff of Neptune Beach, FL; her grandmother, Margret Nordberg of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; her two aunts, Valerie Nordberg and Diane Linehan, both of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; granddaughter, Grace Lynn Esteban of Jacksonville, FL; her nieces, Madelyn & Mackenzie Brown of Atlantic Beach, FL; her step-father, Grant Mollenhoff of Neptune Beach, FL. Tobie also leaves behind great aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as many close friends who were all very dear to her heart, including her furry friend, Moka. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, as well as her grandfather, Sidney Nordberg, and great aunt, Christine.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on February 23, 2021 from 11am to 3pm
