Thomas James Gonseth passed away unexpectedly on February 24, 2023. Tom was born July 7, 1959 in Manhasset, NY. He grew up in Mahwah, NJ and attended Don Bosco Preparatory in Ramsay, NJ graduating in 1978. He briefly attended Fairfield University. Tom was a member of the Fardale 4 Wheelers Club and genuinely enjoyed spending time with this group of lifelong friends.
Tom was a self-employed carpenter in NJ and a licensed general contractor on Cape Cod, MA where he met his wife, Nancy Colby. Tom and Nancy relocated to Ponte Vedra Beach, FL in July 1994. They were later married October 15, 1994 in Chatham, MA. Tom enjoyed a long career in commercial real estate leasing, most recently spending the last 8 years with Killashee Investments doing both commercial property sales and leasing.
Tom enjoyed boating, golfing, traveling, attending concerts, and listening to good music. His favorite was the Grateful Dead and Jerry Garcia, “Who was God!”
Tom was predeceased by his mother, Maureen Patricia “Hanney” Gonseth and is survived by his loving wife Nancy, his Father Alan T. Gonseth, stepmother Jane Fennel, sister, Patricia “Gonseth” Coneys, Bother-in-law, Jeffrey Coneys, Nephew, Kevin Coneys, and Nieces, Bridget and Kaitlyn Coneys. His extended family includes Brothers and sisters-in-law, Steve and Elizabeth Kovach, John and Emily Colby, nephew Stephen Kovach, and nieces Samantha Kovach, Laura Colby, Caroline Colby and Sarah Colby.
Tom will be missed by all who knew and loved him, especially Nancy and his dog Sarge. A memorial service will be held Friday, March 3, 2023, 2pm, at the Ponte Vedra Funeral Home and Cemetery: 4750 Palm Valley Road, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32082.
