Victor Albert Young, beloved son of Beryl Sailsman and Rudolph Young, was born in Black River, Saint Elizabeth, Jamaica.

Victor's educational journey began at May Pen Elementary School, followed by Cornwall College and Clarendon College, where he laid the foundation for a life marked by hard work and dedication. He began his professional career with the Bauxite Company before joining the Carreras Company in Jamaica. In 1968, Victor migrated to the United States, and by 1971, he embarked on an 18-year tenure as a salesman with Warner Lambert/American Chicle. Upon relocating to Florida, he continued his career at Tucker Rental in Neptune Beach.

Known affectionately as "Papa", Victor was a well-respected figure known for his sharp wit and infectious humor that could brighten any room. His wisdom and intelligence shone through in every conversation, making him a trusted advisor to many. Throughout his life, Victor and Claudia created warm and welcoming homes in Brooklyn, Cambria Heights and Jacksonville, where he became a cherished member of Christ United Methodist Church in Neptune Beach.

Victor will be fondly remembered for his unwavering love for family, remarkable resilience, and the warmth he brought to every relationship. His legacy of kindness and laughter will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Victor is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Claudia Young (nee Baugh); his children: Sandra Hyman, Monte Young, David Young (Michelle) and Terry Hazlewood; his sister, Althea Young Stewart; brother, Robert Young; along with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his cherished twin siblings, Eleanor Rose Young Baugh and Peter Anthony Young Sr.

A memorial service for Victor will take place at Ponte Vedra Valley Funeral Home, on Friday, November 15, 2024 at 11:00 AM, immediately followed by a private family committal service and then repast. Victor's service will be livestreamed. Directly below this obituary, you will see a frame appear approximately 10 minutes prior to the start of his service.
