William “Bill” Flemister, Jr.
October 23, 1944 – December 3, 2024
William “Bill” Flemister, Jr., of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully at the age of 80. Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Bill was the son of the late Bill Flemister, Sr. and Louise Garner Flemister. He graduated from Northside High School and received his business degree from the University of Tennessee. He was a loving and proud father of five adult children: Loren Colvin, Matthew (Krissy) Flemister III, Cam (James) Iuliucci, Sarah (Mac) Brown, and Claire Flemister, as well as a devoted grandfather to Monica (Josh) Riegel and Felix Flemister and great-grandfather to Delaney Riegel.
Bill is survived by his siblings, Wayne (Linda) Flemister and Sherri (John) Gorman, along with many extended family members, friends, and colleagues who will miss his infectious smile and warm personality.
Though born and raised in Atlanta, Bill's heart was always drawn to the beaches of Florida, where he spent countless hours enjoying the sun and searching for elusive shark’s teeth at the water’s edge. His love for the coast reflected his easy-going nature and deep appreciation for the simple joys of life, but most of all, loving his family.
Bill’s love of animals, especially cats, was central to his life, and he would often speak fondly of his furry companions who filled his heart with affection. Max, Beau, George, Brandon, Alpine, and Aspen brought him immense joy over these past few years.
Bill had a colorful and diverse professional career that spanned many industries. A skilled small aircraft pilot, Bill's love for flying was matched only by his entrepreneurial spirit. He owned an executive search business and even operated an AM radio station, where he was a talk show host, providing a voice and a platform for the local St. Augustine community. Most recently, he worked as a real estate appraiser. Throughout his varied professional journey, Bill remained driven, creative, and endlessly curious—always open to new challenges and eager to learn.
Above all, Bill will be remembered as a devoted follower of Christ and a loving and compassionate father who put his family above all else. His commitment to his family and friends were his greatest legacies. Bill will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held for family and close friends in Atlanta in the new year. The family invites all who wish to honor Bill's memory to make a donation to Love Me True or your local cat rescue organization.
Rest in peace, Bill. Your legacy of love and laughter will live on in the hearts of those who knew you.
