Campbell, William Franklin (Bill), 88, formerly of Ormond Beach, FL, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2018, in Jacksonville Beach, FL.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 6th at 1:00 p.m. at Harbor Baptist Church, 428 Tomoka Ave, Ormond Beach, FL, 32174, with Pastor Ronald Todd officiating.
Bill was born in Dayton, Ohio to Charles and Alma Leona Kendig Campbell. After graduating from Trotwood Madison High School in 1947, Bill married classmate Rosemary Joanne Snider and farmed on the family farm. In 1963, Bill and his family moved to South Florida where he owned a service station and then later was a construction contractor building homes. In 1969, Bill married Patricia Devereaux Dix and in 1986, they moved to Lake County, FL where they owned and operated a bar. He retired to Ormond Beach, FL in 1996, but still kept busy with various jobs such as Habitat for Humanity and performed many volunteer services for his church and neighbors.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife Patricia, his parents, three brothers, and two sisters. Survivors include: brother-in-law, Martin Devereaux of Pompano Beach, Fl; two daughters, Peggy Kelly, Brandon, FL and Cathy Sullivan, Melbourne, FL; five sons, Michael Campbell, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, Jerry Campbell, Ft Myers, FL, Kevin Dix, Charleston, W.VA, Brian Devereaux, Costa Rica, and Stephen Dix, Delray Beach, FL; 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and special friend, Virginia Fluke, Ormond Beach, FL.
The family would like to thank Ashford Court at Marsh Landing Assisted Living and Vitas Healthcare for their loving care. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Harbor Baptist Church, 428 Tomoka Ave, Ormond Beach, FL, 32174 in memory of Bill’s life.
