William (Bill) George Dominiak, Jr., age 69, of Ponte Vedra Beach died on March 1, 2018, after a brief courageous battle with Stage IV lung cancer.

Bill was born on March 7, 1948, to the late William and Henrietta Dominiak.  He graduated from Mishawaka High School and Ball State University where he met and continued life-long friendships with many of his Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity brothers. (IA 670) Upon graduation, he joined the National Guard and was honorably discharged. He was first hired by Dun and Bradstreet, and then, began a very successful sales career as a manufacturers rep in the automotive industry. Bill enjoyed the comraderie of many associates in the Magnus Division of Economics Laboratories, Jack Becker Oil, A & I Sales and ADG Equipment.

Bill was a loyal Notre Dame fan, he loved the Chicago Cubs, and he was a huge soccer fan. He volunteered for many years as a coach for the Beaches Youth Soccer Association and he truly enjoyed more than 25 years on the ‘pitch’ as a soccer referee. He was able to form many special friendships with players on the adult rec soccer teams. Bill also looked forward to getting together with fraternity brothers for the annual ‘Big Chill’ in Indiana and the ‘Island Chill’ on Marco Island. Bill will truly be missed by all of his ‘pub’ friends who knew that he was a stranger to none and a friend to all. We will all remember and treasure Bill’s embellished storytelling, his love for nostalgia regarding music, history, and a lifetime of special memories with friends and family.

Bill is survived by his wife of 46 years, Susie; sons, Dr. Coleman ‘Coley’ Dominiak (Gretchen), Beau Dominiak (Monica); grandchildren, George and Kate; brothers in law, Rick Klipich, Steve Klipich; niece, Michelle Sego; nephews, Tim Rondot and Danny Klipich; and many grand nieces and nephews in South Bend, Indiana. Bill was predeceased in death by his sister, Kathleen Sego.

At Bill’s request a private ceremony will be held for the family at a later date. Bill’s family would especially like to thank Spanky for his loving care and kindness and all of the Community Hospice staff who lovingly cared for Bill and his family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Bill’s name to St. Bavo’s Catholic Church, 502 W 7th Street, Mishawaka, Indiana, 46544, or Community Hospice at 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, FL, 32257.

Finally, as requested by Bill, please try to live the words of Jim Valvano, ‘do three things everyday: think, laugh and cry and you will have a heck of a day’.
