William (Bill) Joseph Keegan, Sr., 84, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on January 4, 2026, after a long battle with multiple health complications, including cancer and congestive heart failure.

Born on February 18, 1941, in West Springfield, Massachusetts, Bill was the son of Edward Joseph Keegan and Gertrude Farrell Keegan. After high school, he attended Providence College (RI), then proudly served our nation in the United States Air Force, during this time he met and married Mary Ann Bergeron (Franklin, LA). After retiring from the USAF, they relocated to South Louisiana, and then dedicated many years to working in the communications tech industry.

Bill was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, an avid watcher of Jeopardy, and someone who enjoyed traveling and telling stories. Above all else, his greatest treasures were his Catholic faith and his family.

Bill is survived by Mary Ann, his wife of 59 years, 51 weeks, and 4 days; his children: William Keegan, Jr. (Barbra; William III and Andrew), Erin Keegan Fields (Julian and Quinn), Kevin Keegan, Rev. David Keegan, and Trish Jayaseelan (Dhinu; Luke and Mark); his siblings, Ted (Patti), Claire Matthews, Jimmy (Maryann), and Mary Ellen Keyser (Nelson). He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Cathy Marie (2000); and his brother, Rev. Terrence Stephen Keegan, O.P. (2024).

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 12:00 noon at Holy Family Catholic Church, 9800 Baymeadows Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32256. Guests are invited to gather at the church at 11:00 a.m. to join the family in praying the Holy Rosary. Following the Funeral Mass, a reception will be held in the Holy Family Parish Life Center. A private burial will take place after the reception.
